Tchesar Neteru Jendayi began her career of researching African History and Culture over 35 years ago.  She attended colleges in Broolkyn, New York, Ghana, Nigeria, Togo and Benin, West Africa; and received a Bachelor's Degree in African Studies and Sociology, from Queens College (NY) in 1976.
After earning her degree, Tchesar taught African History at Uhuru Sasa Shule, in Brooklyn, New York.  She then became an educator in New York City's Public School System; where she designed an after school African dance program and gave teacher workshops on "African art and artifacts", "Teaching and celebrating Kwanzaa in the classroom", and "African mask making."
Upon relocating to Hampton Roads, Virginia in 1996, Tchesar became dance instructor and folklorist for Suwabi African Ballet.  Mut (mother) Tchesar teaches classes and workshops for storytelling, mask making, jewelry making, Kwanzaa history, and celebrating Kwanzaa.
